PROJECT CRITERIA

• ​​​​Aligns with TPF’s vision and thematic focus (please see our PROJECTS page)
• Addresses root causes and contributes to structural, lasting development
• Is socially, economically and environmentally sustainable
• Mobilizes financial commitment and triggers others to take action
• Responds to community needs and is carried out in close collaboration with the target group
• Has a clear phase-out strategy or can be independently sustained by local stakeholders

APPLICANT CRITERIA

• Demonstrates sound financial and organisational management
• Brings in at least 25% co-funding from own contribution and/or third parties
• Is well established locally, or has developed strong connections to locally based implementing agents
• Has sound technical knowledge and skills and a demonstrated track record of relevant project experience
• Is financially secure, i.e. enjoys continuous support of other donors

EXCLUSIONS 

• Individuals or individual families directly
• Projects that promote a specific religion
• Political organisations and events
• For-profit organisations
• Unregistered charities
• Sports sponsorships
• Requests solely for operating or administrative expenses
• Requests mainly for procurement of equipment or construction of infrastructure 
• Projects involving the procurement of real estate
